Full Description: Oak Terrace was built in 1872 as the summer home of Valentine Hall, a self-made man, married to Mary Livingston Ludlow, descendant of one of America’s most prominent families. The house, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was also the childhood summer home of Mrs Hall’s granddaughter, Eleanor Roosevelt. Oak Terrace today This magnificent Second Empire style house, with ceilings up to 18 feet, has remained fundamentally unaltered since the Hall family moved out in 1934. With its magnificent 25 acre site overlooking the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains beyond, it offers a unique opportunity to restore an important house which is essentially untouched since it was Eleanor Roosevelt’s home.
